Today: THE MESS

The mess. The mess. Just breathe. Focus on the fact I've cleared the table and Nora's pretty posy looks gorgeous on it.

Tell me, how on earth do you keep up with the destruction and chaos your children create? I think I need all the help I can get.

(Maybe if I wasn't photographing and blogging it ... )

ps it looks a little better now. A little.

  1. Its so hard just keep those kmart baskets in the living room & chuck everything inside so at least the house looks tidy even with 3 baskets in the living room overflowing.

    1. I think you're right - I keep meaning to cull and organise and sort, but really I should just hide it all away - one day I'll get time (and energy to sort through), but not now.

    1. Oh, I hope I do. Less totally is more, but right now I'm finding it hard to figure out where to start.

  3. Oh, thank you for sharing! You're not alone - my house is exactly like this most of the time and I only have one kid! I'm on a spring cleaning mission at the moment and I'm culling ruthlessly. Next job is the toys. So many toys! And so many miscellaneous bits of toy related junk!

    1. I KNOW! The toys. And the miscellaneous toy bits that your not even sure where they came from or where they belong. They're frustrating. Wishing you luck with your culling.

  4. I love you Imogen! I feel warmth inside seeing these pics because it makes me feel at home, because my house is like this the majority of the time and sometimes it can feel as if no one else ever has mess.. Little kids bring mess, and I had mess way before I had kids and maybe it's the way we define it-- some people would see "mess", I see glorious child-induced confetti!! (unless I'm the only one cleaning it up and then it receives it's "mess" status again) hahaha

    1. Lol. Your theories are THE best, Heidi. I'm admiring a sea of confetti right now. x

ps I had mess before kids as well, somehow it has just multiplied majorly.

  5. I love blogs that keep it real :-) My house looks the same most of the time, I clean up when my boys are at school and then they come home and wreck it all over again!
