A creative fail.

Sometime back in April, just before my birthday, I treated myself to a little present. I purchased an Umbrella Prints trimmings pack. I was eager to make a little dolls quilt for Oscar and Nora to play with. However, I promised myself that I would finish my current embroidery project before starting a new one (trying to break bad habits here). Sadly my embroidery lies half completed and the fabrics are unlikely to be touched before the trimmings competition due date. I will still make the quilt, just in my own time ... sometime!

ps My own doll's quilt.

  1. Story of my life!! Old habits die hard. I gave myself a challenge at the start of April, no new fabric or wool until I make a good dent in the projects scattered around the house. So far so good, I've finished a lot, started a lot, but I've been working completely with what I have already! It's a good feeling!

  2. Yep...I'm guilty too. The other bad habit I have is buying and storing too much fabric...and sewing odds and ends generally!!!!!!
Followed your link to the doll's quilt you made when your were a girl. What a fabulous piece of crafty history for you to have! I loved it.

    1. Thank you (: I have so many odds and end sewing projects happening here and there, some of which don't even have any direction. And little random bags of scrap fabrics and felts and threads stashed away. I will teach myself to finish things. One day!

  3. At least our creative juices are being stirred (that's my justification for unfinished projects that consume my "art area") .... The fabric is gorgeous! See, you inspired me with the fabric in he photo of your unfinished project so there is a good deed done so even if you never go further with the fabric it inspired someone else! Ok, now I need to return the favor....I'll post one of my brilliant undone project ideas & we can start an Inspiring Minds club!!
