David Greenhalgh

Progress, lit by fish  David Greenhalgh

My talented young cousin had an exhibition opening last night at Kudos Gallery. Nora and I attended, and I made an impulse purchase of the above artwork. I love the subject matter, the linework, the light and dark. It reminds me ever so slightly of Tim Winton's Cloudstreet.

As I was there, I noticed that David's mum Fiona (the lady who made this blanket) was positively glowing with pride over her son's achievements. It was beautiful to watch. It made me think, one day Oscar will be a fully grown man. And whatever his choices and achievements, I'm certain there will be moments when I feel that sense of pride.
